Sheesh. Found out Thanksgiving day that my youngest daughter who lives 20 hours away is having some health issues. With her living in Houston Texas and me in north east Iowa there isnt a whole lot I can do about it but worry and pray and worry some more. Then last night we got the 1 am. phone call from our oldest daughter who lives up here. Phone calls from any one at that time of night are usually bad news. Turns out, out 21 year old grandson was riding in a car with a buddy when the buddy hit a bridge abutment and flipped and rolled the car around midnight. The guy driving had to be cut out of the car but wasnt seriously hurt but our GS got drug out of the car by EMS and had a broken femur. He is just getting out of surgery about now after getting a rod shoved into his leg from the knee to his hip so's he can walk in 4 months or so. I'll tell ya what, I have never been the best parent or grand parent but if they ever give out an award for G.P. or Mother of the year, my wife Linda best be on the short list to win the award or I am going to start kickin azz and takin names right quick!
Prayers for both Butcher, may they recover fully and quickly. ..........and behind every good man is a great wife................
You and your family are in our prayers Butcher. Please keep us posted. That's more bad news than any 2 families need. On the spike in the femur, our neighbor had that done last summer after having a horse fall on her. It really was not bad for her and we hope it proves the same for your grandson.
Thanks all for the kindness. Looks like the grandson might be a little sore on the hoof for some time. At least it was a clean brake.
