My 372 xtorque seems to be developing a bog/ lack of power when stumping or cutting with the bar buried. The saw still starts and runs/idles great. Im running a .50 gauge 24 inch bar with full comp oregon chain, i have lots of chains for it some are semi comp. The saw is a 2012 model and has cut probly 35 cords of wood. It just seems it used to run a little better. I do take my rakers down a bit more than some but nothing to crazy.

What have you checked? Filters? Fuel line? Induction tract snug? High speed mixture? Fuel fresh? Chain sharp? In the pic, chain looks a bit random- variable file height, and dull. 'Tis the season, with temps dropping and air density rising, to make minor H adjustment (richer) on adjustable carbs.

I agree with everything above and maybe do a compression test? Check air filter if it's plugged?

I'll second the chain in that picture does not look good. Could pull the muffler quick and inspect the bore and piston. How about compression numbers? We can guess until we're blue in the face but testing must be done on the saw to get anywhere.

Ill third that chain needing attention. Looks to me like not enough hook on one tooth, the tooth on right looks like the file angle is a little off (corner isnt a nice sharp point) and the bottom of tie straps and cutters look pretty beat up for a chain with that much meat left. Air filter is certainly worth a check as well. These saws arent torque monsters so a dull full comp chain can rob power very easily.

Thanks for the replies guys. I did some cutting with the saw yesterday with a new chain and ya it was better performance. I dont have a comp tester, but am gona get a new air filter the one on the saw is about 2 years old. I blow it out every 2 cords, mite do a fuel filter also.
