Right where I want to be.
Made 2 punkin pies, cranberry sauce, one batch of sweet potatoes, and the GB casserole yesterday.
Middle GD just made choc. chip pancakes for breakfast. Yum.
Gonna' start the stuffing and turkey soon, and another batch of sweet potatoes. Might be another couple pies on tap later.
Oh, we've been making onion casserole for a few years too, so that's on the list.

It's pretty good, but I can't eat too much of it.
Slice up some onions, add butter and sour cream, bake for a bit. Might be something else, but I don't remember.
    I'll post up the recipe........

Ok, the wife put the recipe out for this am:
    4 very large onions-sliced
    1 stick butter
    1.5 cups parm cheese
1 8 oz. can of fried onions

In large skillet, saute 2 onions with 1/2 stick butter until tender.
Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 of the sour cream. Spread that in 9X13" pan, and sprinkle with 3/4 cup of the parm.
Repeat above process with remaining onions, etc.
Bake at 350 for 20 minutes, top with the fried onions, and brown for another 3-4 minutes.
    Eat.
Note: I don't remember doing the saute thing, but it'll add a little flavor if you prefer. I love sauteed onions.

I'm going Thai this year with two main turkey dishes, turkey meatballs with coconut curry sauce and a turkey stir fry with basil, cilantro, peppers, and peanut sauce.

I'll get a picture for later.

It will include a 20 pound turkey, italian meatball stuffing, mashed or whipped taters, gravy, peas, squash, pumpkin bread and pies with ice cream.

I'm missing a few things but they'll be "gooder".

I hope you made extras. We'll be over soon.

As to what we're having today, all I know it's that we'll have turkey, and the pecan tarts and mini cheesecakes that my wife made. We're going to a friend's house for Thanksgiving today. We're really looking forward to this.

    Food, friends, and fun.

That's what Thanksgiving is all about.

Edit, I made my own egg nog for the first time last night. I fell asleep before being able to have a glass after it chilled in the fridge, but the spatula leftovers tested like nog to me. I used Alton Brown's recipe on food network. I'll try it out today.

Once I find the recipe, I'll post it. Once my wife started making it she likes it a whole lot better than the traditional which she'll still make some off.

@wellseasoned, my mother came up with the recipe. The only changes are 2 pounds of ground pork and 1 pound of ground chuck. 102_0755.JPG
If it doesn't taste good, you've done something wrong.

Not really. Here's the recipe. I hate booze in nog, so I left it out. Eggnog : Alton Brown : Food Network

It's good, better than most store bought nog, but not as good as the couple of nights that I regularly buy. It's a tad too thin IMHO. I could thicken it up.

Alton also has an "aged egg nog" recipe that I might try.

I used the whisk attachment on my immersion blender. Making the egg whites into stiff peaks still is the most work in this recipe. I wouldn't attempt it by hand.
