    Good evening all

I finally decided to start up my endurance after waiting as long as I could.
Put it all back together after spring cleanup and leave the parts out during the summer.
When I started it up the combustion fan is louder then normal.
Everything seems to be free moving buy with the back panel off and a screw driver against the fan motor it goes back to being the quiet fan from last winter.
Anyone with any thoughts. I'm thinking the fan maybe on its last legs and looks to be quite the job to replace.
    Thanks in advance

Might want to loosen the mounting bolts/screws a little and wiggle it around......might not have "seated" back in the same position or case got "tweaked" if bolts/screws aren't tightened down evenly.

Remove the fan unit and be sure the blades are ALL clean as a whistle, as a blade or two with some carbon build up left on can cause an out of balance condition.

Also clamp the mounting plate on something solid so you can turn the blade and carefully observe the petals as the move past a fixed point.

If you have a petal or two that are not running in line with the rest of them will/can cause a harmonic to set up and NOISE/VIBRATIONS

Getting a tad rough with the cleaning can tweak the petals.

Be sure the center hub is clean as well.

Even the back of the blade/petals must be clean to keep things balanced

Yep, important they're clean. If you wirebrush them (carefully), a couple coats of spray graphite or moly seems to help keep them cleaner longer, and actual cleanings are easier.

Worst case is to replace the exhaust motor with a bigger impeller which you'll probably do like the rest of us. I usually run it on the bench to see what's happening then go from there. Sounds like it's unbalanced from being slightly bent/need of better cleaning. All the above suggestions are worth to investigate:thumbs:

    Thanks for the help
The impeller fan was not as clean as I thought it was.
Does anyone know if the upgrade parts ie motor and fan can be bought in Canada or shipped here

    Another Canadian, heh!
Buying in Canada has a different set of rules, if you look into the stickies above you will find more info on the upgrade subject. Be prepare to have ample time to read.

My BIL chbryson had a very noisy exhaust motor on his 50f and he replaced it with the same upgraded Motor and impeller that I used on my 50F.

don2222 is the man we both went to and he has been very helpful!

This pic only shows the upgraded impeller. But the new motor helped as well.
