I have used them right out of the box with good results on 3 different saws... As with any other though, they get measured and checked before install.. I found a Golf once that wasn't exactly round...
I've used 6 sets out of the box no problems but I always check them. Meteors may not be what you want for some applications? One application may Free port? Another may be so heavy that you will not like it? the skirt may be narrow or there is a window or no window? Best to evaluate what you have before actually using it?
I'm going to put one in a good used 066 jug. Want to replace the NWP big bore that's currently on the saw. It's a dog and only about 140 compression.
