Mrs piney's Bday is coming up in a few weeks and shes not giving me many ideas for a present. Although she did mention that she might like a tablet. I don't know squat about those things so any ideas or recommendations would be great! Thanks

My wife got me a Samsung S3 ( I think) for Christmas which I love. She is on the Dark Side:) and has a I-Pad. I think the factor other then cost depends on what operating system you want to use.
If she has an Android phone she may want to stick to that and vice versa.

Make sure you buy quality, the cheaper android tablets often are more trouble than they are worth. From my own experience, I would recommend an iPad or more likely the iPad mini. Women really seem to like the mini. The nooks are also very popular, but they can be confusing even for those well experienced with Android. The controls just seem backwards.

Hard to go wrong with Apple. I love my iPad, but I've heard the new Samsung gear is pretty good too. My dad has a Nexus and it is pretty good, especially for the price.

Yeah, I think it might be hard to go wrong with a Nexus or a Galaxy. Still prefer the iPad option.

Price may play a factor also.

Don't cheap out on an Android tablet. Some of the low end tablets don't have access to the google play store, so you can't install any apps.

I have an Android phone, an iPad, and my girls have Smasung tablets. Like them all.

Are you looking for mobile data, or wifi only?

Another vote for iPad. Even though mine is an older model hand me down from my wife (she upgraded and I got the old one) it's pretty handy. I hardly ever turn the PC on anymore.

Bought the wife a Samsung Galaxy3 for Christmas and she really likes it. Let me say though I am not an expert by a long shot and I am sure many on here know way more than me, just commenting.

We have an iPad mini. The wife and 4 year old use it. Its ok but I'm a droid fan. The galaxy tablets are nice also. I'm probably going to get me one this year some time.

    Yep.. Galaxy or Apple.

I have a Galaxy S-4 phone and an iPad 2. Personally, if Apple had a bigger phone screen? I would be 100% Apple. But my battery is bigger than the screen on the iPhone.

On my iPad now and love it. Had it for 15 months and wouldn't be without one.

My son bought me a galaxy S3. Great for reading books or watching netflix, but other than that I really don't like the android operating system. Navigating the internet can be very frustrating sometimes.

Are you using chrome or internet explorer. Chrome is much better to use.
