Friendly reminder, when you change your auger motor change your auger bushings!

An auger motor is only as good as your auger bushings or Bearings so when changing your auger motor(s) a new set of upper and lower bushings really help prolong the life of the auger motor(s)!!!

Don,are there any top feeder stoves that come with a nylatron upper bushing?Have never seen one.

 

No there is not.
All the Whitfields and Lennox stoves with a Nylatron bottom bearing have an oilite bronze top bearing.
The Nylatron Bearings are made for 3/4" diameter augers. If they made Nylatron bushings for 5/8" and 1/2" diameter augers I would sell a Ton of them as upgrades!

Was wondering,as nylatron breaks down fast at sustained hi temp,well below the rated tem,I think all top bushings should be more substantial than nylatron.

 

That is a good point. Top bushings do not get the gummy stuff like the bottom so maybe that is the best solution?
Although, all the Pelpro pellet stoves have top and bottom high temperature Nylon Bushings
