This is a shot out my master bedroom window of the back yard yesterday. Its amazing how heavy snow coming down doesnt show up in photos. Anyways not a big snow fall but nice to see the white stuff back. In Tundras kennel and in the trees behind you can see some green larch that I processed in July/August that I will burn next winter.
Looks to be 70 tommorrow then possible 6-10" and in the low 30's by Monday. Of course windy, rainy and falling temps for opening day of gun season for deer here Saturday
Haven't had any overnight burns yet. A fire in the morning that lasts until noon is all we have needed so far. Supposed to be colder this weekend. Shoulder wood supply is still good for this fall.
48 degrees at noon (MST), sustained wind at 25 mph from NW,burning ponderosa pine and Douglas fir. No pics, don't know where mama "hid" the camera.
It's 32 degrees outside and they are calling for a snow storm (somewhat) this weekend. I guess I'll put the coffee pot on the stove and sit by the fire in my jammies all weekend. Works for me.
I got home from night night shift this AM and it was 29. Pretty good frost, The wife ran the furnace for 10 minutes for the kid to get ready for school. it's supposed to get to 62 today so I ain't lighting no fire. By Sunday cold and possible snow, I'll be burning then for sure. looking forward to the first snow, kinda late around these parts to not to having seen none yet.
Nice! I bet you have the stove choochin! We are -4 and it seems quite cold but its been so mild for so long I think weve all become pansies out here!
I don't have much for chimney height, so she's a bit sluggish off the line in warmer weather. Anywhere below -8 C though, and she gets choochin pretty good!
30 here, just lit up the VC with some Hemlock, Oak, & Maple. All small stuff for this time of year, 2" rounds. We're waiting for Late Nov. weather to arrive. It's been more like early Oct., I hear the colder air is coming though. Some snow would be nice.
It was hanging around 50º outside this morning and is down to 43º out now and dropping fast. Raked and burnt leaves after dark last night until about 11. Woke up and wanted to see how nice the yard looked after my labors, wind has been blowing hard, bet you can picture what the yard looks like..... OH well !! Going to get the stove lit off soon....72º out yesterday 30's today, time to get it choochin.
Still light snow coming down, ended up with 5" overnight. Good thing is, its not the heavy wet heart attack snow for shoveling. Wind chill (gotta love it) is 8f currently.
Not that I'm conplaining, but this weather is crazy. 70° yesterday and overnight it went into the 40s. Got up to a 61° house and had to turn on the furnace. If I had started a fire it would have been sweltering in here. I think tonight is one that finally starts to get cold.
