I bought a used Fahrenheit Furnace and was wondering if there was anything that needed to be done before I installed it.
It's in my shop and I'm going to clean it up with compressed air and a fan on the exhaust, Will clean the motors and lube things as needed.
The serial number is 50F3123 Appears to be in very good shape and not that old.

    Congrats on the purchase:yes:
The back wall on the second picture has a 1" spacing which needs to be clear and open for heat circulation. More space area on the left side than the right side if you notice something odd! The top heat exchanger tubes has a front access panel behind the distribution air deflector just above the fire door. Ask away on questions whenever in need for answers.

Something special about the first fire. Heat duct hooked up and Exhaust vent attached so I gave it a try.
Lit up quicker than I thought it would. Mostly corn in it I mix a gallon of pellets into a hopper full.
Had it set on thermostat and number 3 heat range, I don't know how many lbs per hour of pellets it burns at that setting however my first impression is that it throws a lot of heat !!

I fired the stove and the display got as far as Stabilizing, It was getting fairly warm in the house so we shut the stove down. It's supposed to get colder this weekend so will likely be able to let it run longer. It was in the upper 40's outside when we lit it.
The flame looked bright and lively however it is hard to tell until things get warmed up, I have it attached to a 7 inch chimney so when that gets warmed up it draws fairly well.

Also I didn't get any manual with the stove so we downloaded the installation and operation manual from www.fahrenheittech.com I don't know if there is any other manuals available or not.

Just make sure you have the right revision as they made a few modifications down the assembly line. Aside from that, they're about the same but getting the right one is key for understanding how it runs & fits together.

What serial number do you have? With the OP's Fahrenheit and yours, that puts the forum at 11 members with this unit!! When I bought mine 5 years ago, it was like nobody owned one. I went to Fahrenheit for advice. Now, people come here!!

Dexter Jay Z serial number is 3126
We have been having unusually warm weather this fall, today was windy and cold so I started the Fahrenheit up early this morning and will likely let it chug away for a few days, Looks like it will warm up some the middle of next week so will likely turn it off again.

I removed an St Croix scf050 and put this in, It seems strange to not empty the firepot and light it manually.
I'm running it on Thermostat mode on level 3 as far as I can tell it ran all day non stop although we were gone for awhile this afternoon.

Triple A It does burn more of an Orange color as I'm burning mostly corn, I put about a gallon of Pellets in a hopper full of corn. Corn is selling for $100. a ton locally. I have a bin that holds approx 4 ton of corn or pellets with an auger system to fill the bin and another auger to fill the Furnace.

Thanks. I don't know if I missed that info or you happen to have it!

Mine is orange as well. The activity of the fire is what is important . You want a faster moving, active, and vivacious fire. But not to fast

The ash color is what I go by. Especially on the Fahrenheit. My Quadra fire and my Enerzone have/had sparks blowing around at every second. No so much with my Fahrenheit . If the air is opened that far, I throw a lot of heat up the flue .

I shoot for a lighter grey ash and all has been well for 5 years :)

    Hi Dexter.
He had posted the serial number in one of his first posts. I don't know where he purchased his furnace, I purchased this one used in the Watertown Wi. area which is 130 miles from me. The dealer that sold it originally is no longer in business.
There has been 4 of these sold in my area in the last year, one was older manual ignition, one was nearly new in price and one was a little to far for me to drive. This one was on Craigs list in nice shape and new enough to have auto ignition so we chose this one.

As far as setting the air damper I check the temperature rise across the furnace and watch the color of the firepot, when I get the highest temp rise and the pot still is grey/white then I suspect that will be close as far as setting it up. If we switch to pellets then I'll have to readjust it.

I purchased mine as a demo unit from a dealer in Ripon,WI. Fired it up Thanksgiving weekend 2013. I have access to pellet manufacturers near me so dialed in on a favorite WI product.

Nice!! I look at flame activity, but like you said, I still go based on ash/pot color.

I have mine going now. I've ran it several times before now because of low temps and 2 kids. Once it goes to 32° or below, we use the furnace. Otherwise we use the Enerzone upstairs if it's above freezing!

Not sure which thread it's in, but it's always a question to sift or not to sift. So I decided to sift to see if it makes a difference. Here is after a few bags, notice the depth in eyes and mouth. IMG_3489.JPG
