This pine is from the trail work we've done around the house with some hemlock also in the stacks, I plan on finishing the stacking tomorrow after I do a small job for the wife. Picture 0715 is the pile of pine, 0716 is the stack (2 face cord when I finish) 0717 is what's remaining. We'll have six face cord of pine & hemlock ready for next falls shoulder season.
I gotta get my arse in gear. Got a bunch of pines to deal with. Some are beetle killed, some are something else. 1 hemlock in the yard the gypsy moths ate and it didn't make it. 5 more with no leaves on the tops.
I mixed some cherry and maple in with the pine today which finished the row. We'll have 1.86 cord or 6 face cord ready for next years shoulder season wood. We still have more pine left that needs stacking so I just gotta find the room. I'll throw some pictures up later.
I grabbed one full load of the cherry and some maple that I had left in the woods, it finished the rack.
I did use the tractor today, it's under my trail thread. With winter weather 2 or 3 weeks away, I'm getting some wood off the ground and stacked. We'll be putting in more wood tomorrow which will open up another stacking area for the rest of the pine,maple,cherry and some beech for next years shoulder season. Once I get that stacked we'll have 8 face cord ready for the shoulder season. We usually don't burn that much but I need to get rid of it.
Pine's good stuff for shoulder season. Heck, you can burn it all year and it'll keep you warm. You just will need a bit of it.
