Unless you have one, go to a flea market, goodwill or one of those places and find a glass lid to fit. I found an old pyrex lid for .25 cents works super.
Hi, I found some of my ancestors things in the rubbish before it went to the dump and pulled these out, Dear Father wanted to refinish them, but anywho, he will be 75 soon and brought them back to me today after over a decade or so. Hi Dave, AWESOME if your guess is correct on the dutch oven, as that time frame would make it from my original proginator!!!!! William Myers, official Pioneer of taming Colorado. 1834-1929. The one surviving son would have only been 12 1890, then he moved on for a few decades. William came to Colorado in 1860 (He was rejected by the military for poor health though he lived 95 years, upset he headed west as a freighter with a 6 horse team). He was a blacksmith and took that back up again in Denver in 1864, I was hoping he had forged it but nope, not with the 8Y stamp, oh well. I will take Woodwidow 's advice and stop boring you with my genealogy But WOWOWOWOW that would be awesome if it were his and wifes! I checked the Wagner, it has a 5 on the handle. The lid does not fit the ones I mentioned, nor the two little ones I have, one Taiwan the other Korea.
I just looked into the Wagner logo, think 1922-1959. That would be my Great Aunt Elsie, or my Papa's, My Papa was William only grandson.

I'm not usually into roasters but I "couldn't pass this up" I had to run an errand this morning and passed a garage sale....... Turned around... And saw these sitting on the table "un marked". Said to the lady, how much for both?......And she says $10 bucks .... And the lonely fry pan you can have that if you want.... . I happily gave her $10.00 bucks, scooped up the roasters and pan, went on my way. I got down the street and felt bad for this because I just bought 2 roasters that are worth about $150.00 for $10.00. So I turned back and said, can I give you a few more bucks, these are collectors pieces and she said "not to me" I'm tired of dusting them off! . Ok, Thank you. . So, I wound up with a Revere ware stainless frypan and two Roasters for $10.00 The Wager Magnalite is the pricey one. It has the original insert and lid, It's anywhere in the $60.00 to $90.00 range.
Actually, they do live within local driving distance, but they rarely have anything good. Maybe they ain't so rich. Guess I have to go lookin' in better neighborhoods.
I had no idea they made cast aluminum pans. That is a great score. I just acquired a French roll pan for $4.00 at a yard sale. I cleaned it up with a wire wheel, but it needs oven cleaner. It is unmarked, but I hope to identify it by the handles and number of spaces between the pockets. This one will hang between the other pan and popover pan. I have to hang the iron mountain pan and flat skillet on the far right and I should be filled up on this wall display. 3 more hooks to forge.
