Started early and went hunting. Saw a few doe and a little 8 point. Nothing I wanted to shoot, but a beautiful day to be in the woods. Then the work started, I have an old trailer for dirt bikes that I wanted to turn into a wood/ATV hauler. I bought some supplies and got after it. Turned out pretty good. It's big enough to haul my fourwheeler, and also can be hauled with the fourwheeler. I plan on mostly using it to haul wood up to the house. I put a hinged door on the back that I can open and put ramps up to load be ATV.
Then my uncle called and asked for help. He wanted to take down a few locust that were really leaning bad over his barn. So I headed over to help. First one was pretty easy, it was right on the corner but easy to drop. The next one was a little more fun. I hinged it and bore cut it while he pushed on it with a pettibone. It fell right where we wanted, did get hung up on the way down but I expected that. We cut it out of the hang up and we're all set. Got one more to come down once I clean up the first two. I got most of the first locust bucked up and limbed. I'll finish up Monday, then there is one more to take down. I'll be getting lots of loads of locust from those three trees! Also had to take down another tree to make room to drop the locust. Not sure what it is. It's laying beside the locust in the last pic.
his barn looks like mine meaning it's set on a tree line.. the trees grow to sun ...always growing over garage I cut tree line back 15 feet.. more wood and less damage to roof win win
swags , that's a busy day! It all sounds like fun to me. Deer, trailers, 4 wheelers, fire wood, and family. What could be better? Well... I guess it could've been better if you were to get a shooter to come by but that might have been too much for one day. LOL
Nice trailer, and the Locust…... I wish I had some on my place, God's gift to the wood burner or a fence builder.
