Found this forum tonight. Been heating my farmhouse for the last three winters. Connected to my oil furnace and main heat source. Bought the unit from a dealer as a demo model. Looking forward to learning about upgrades. Keep mine maintained on a regular basis. Going to purchase an invertor generator as a backup power source. Jay Z.
Welcome to FHC Guys, we have another Fahrenheit owner and we didn't have to squeeze the serial # out of him Tell me more on the inverter generator mod you want to do? Had to modify my system for the Fahrenheit in case you're wondering oh yeah, almost forgotWe love pics and BEER
I checked on total wattage for running furnace and is under 1000 watts. Once past ignition stage unit only draws 325 watts. Looking at a 1600/2000 invertor from Honda or Generac. I live 10 miles from Generac but own lots of Honda stuff. Any one else gone down this path?
You only want to run the furnace off a generator and would this generator self start by its own when power goes out? My set-up is a battery back-up to a TBS pure sinewave inverter which worked fine on my Harman but when the Fahrenheit came in the picture it became a different story. My transfer rate wasn't fast enough for the finicky Fahrenheit so I added a computer UPS and it solved the problem. My Fahrenheit is the older manual and would go into shut down mode. In your case being a Auto model it should relight itself, hopefully. I use the generator for longer power outages only.
