"(CNSNews.com) - The United States lost 9,000 manufacturing jobs in October while gaining 19,000 jobs in government, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Government employment grew from 22,216,000 in September to 22,235,000 in October, according to BLS, while manufacturing jobs dropped from 12,267,000 to 12,258,000.

The 22,235,000 employed by government in the United States now outnumber the 12,258,000 employed in manufacturing by 9,977,000.

Over the past year—from October 2015 to October 2016—manufacturing employment fell by 53,000, declining from 12,311,000 to 12,258,000. During the same period, government employment climbed 208,000, rising from 22,027,000 to 22,235,000."

Remember, a government worker never produced anything worth selling except influence.

Government Workers Now Outnumber Manufacturing Workers by 9,977,000

But, which candidate is going to singlehandedly deliver us from this fate? :hair: (Hint: don't hold your breath)

Seriously, I'm not sure which candidate stands for these things? I must have missed it. I thought the important issues in this campaign were,,, holding people accountable for chauvinist locker room talk, and sending emails from the proper server.

By the way, I think teachers, USPS employees, and road crews were included in your absurdly broad brush stroke there.

The fact that they all will spend millions of dollars to get a job that pays a fraction of that should be the first sign something is wrong.

Keep it from getting political....I know thats hardtop do, but rules are rules.

The main thing we can all do is vote with conviction, and take a good look at which candidate is going to vote in the Supreme Court Justices that will stand for the constitution. Thats what is REALLY at stake here.

Pray for clarity, wisdom, justice and integrity.

Neither candidate possess the leadership or skills to help the country significantly.

Good idea with the points and I agree with the main point BUT...
I feel as though manufacturing is like churning milk by hand, its an old concept for market conditions that dont exist.
The only way to make something work that there is no demand for is subsidies or welfare(government tax spending) in one form or another.
Look at the auto manufacturers. Automated stuff came through and they had to unionize.(robots build better stuff anyway).
Same goes for college there isn't demand for a mediocre college grad anymore. And that's created a crisis. And now they want it to be "free"

I think any politician who spouts about manufacturing is living in the past.

What's more important to look at is stuff like real inflation numbers. How GDP is actually measured(fudged) and real inflation and WHY or how it's ACTUALLY happening.

The dollar is devalued(it represents our nation's value or worth) and is continuously devaluing.

When I lived somehere else, I voted. Now that I am back in the USA, I no longer see any value in it and don't bother.
