    I save at least a box or 5 gallon bucket worth for kindling to start fires.

    I push them into my compost piles, hate tripping on them.

    I hunted in lodge pole in Oregon. Like "pixie" sticks
    Hard to walk , a tangled mess that could barely walk thru
    Elk go thru it at full speed

    Long straight trees,
    guessing they have lots of gotcha nub branches to take bites of your skin

    Sounds like a good use for them. I have been putting splitting trash and chain saw chips into holes in my lawn caused by a dog that just can't resist digging. After a few months the hole is filled with a nice fertile compost.
