MY NAME IS ALICE, AND I WAS SITTING IN THE WAITING ROOM FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT WITH A NEW DENTIST. I NOTICED HIS DDS DIPLOMA ON THE WALL, WHICH BORE HIS FULL NAME. SUDDENLY, I REMEMBERED A TALL, HANDSOME, DARK-HAIRED BOY WITH THE SAME NAME HAD BEEN IN MY HIGH SCHOOL CLASS SOME 40-ODD YEARS AGO. COULD HE BE THE SAME GUY THAT I HAD A SECRET CRUSH ON, WAY BACK THEN? UPON SEEING HIM, HOWEVER, I QUICKLY DISCARDED ANY SUCH THOUGHT. THIS BALDING, GRAY-HAIRED MAN WITH THE DEEPLY LINED FACE WAS WAY TOO OLD TO HAVE BEEN MY CLASSMATE. AFTER HE EXAMINED MY TEETH, I ASKED HIM IF HE HAD ATTENDED MORGAN PARK HIGH SCHOOL ... 'YES. YES, I DID. I 'M A MUSTANG, ' HE GLEAMED WITH PRIDE. WHEN DID YOU GRADUATE? ' I ASKED. HE ANSWERED, 'IN 1967.. WHY DO YOU ASK? ' YOU WERE IN MY CLASS!', I EXCLAIMED. HE LOOKED AT ME CLOSELY. THEN, THAT UGLY, OLD, BALD, WRINKLE-FACED, FAT-ARSED, GRAY-HAIRED, DECREPIT SON-OF-A-BEETCH ASKED ME, 'WHAT DID YOU TEACH???'
I find it astonishing that people I haven't seen in a decade or more look really old while I haven't aged at all! What happened to them??
Same thing here! When people find out I'm in my mid 60's they can't believe it often saying they thought I was in maybe my mid 40's. And when I look at people I know are my age, I have to wonder what happened to them. They really do look horrible and very old.
I was walking by the elevators at work a month ago and saw a woman sitting there on the phone and I thought to myself, "she's REALLY pretty for someone her age". About that time I heard her say on the phone "my birthdate is 9-08-82" She was actually 1 month younger than me to the date. After a double take I realized that she does look about the same age as my wife and other female friends I have my age.
I'm one of those who is aged beyond my years. Going grey at an early age runs in my family. I'm 51 and my hair is white. Overall I'm quite healthy, I just look old. I sure the hell ain't gonna die my hair like some Kansas City sissy.
Gray hair and beard, i dont shave or cut my hair until its long enough to donate. When my daughter got married 7 Years ago i shaved except for the mustache and cut my hair short. Other than my son and daughter no one recognized me until i started talking every one Said i looked 10 or 15 years younger. Yea right grew it back.

I resemble that remark....Oh you said Died hair.... ok then... I stay shaved to keep those grey hairs from growing and populating.... I still look on the younger side, even if I don't feel it....
