Here you go. So glad this particular bolt was, built to a standard not a price

If we were closer? I'd trade you my $4400 Enerzone for your Harman!

Same type of burn pot (bottom feed) and throws heat like crazy. I bought this stove when I truly wanted a P43.

Mine has been a great stove, but I still want a Harman!

I hope and pray that the dealer replaces it!

I'm guessing they try to get the bolt out....when they fail, then likely a new unit, if there are any Advances left. Then a different unit......XXV-TC! yay! (or just get your money back for some other brand?)

I spent the $4000 on my Harman, but unlike your experience, I have very happy with my purchase. I hope you are able to stand your ground and get a stove that is satisfactory. That's a lot of money to pay for aggravation. You deserve better.

This is likely a good thing for you as it gives ammunition for the stove replacement. It doesnt solve the issue that you were hosed on the price.

This is a great instance of always paying for an item like this with a credit card with a good protection policy. With all of this documented any reputable card would back you up or at least assist with threats of charge backs.

I would likely say the same if having your experience, but in all reality it is not even close to the norm for a Harman stove. You have had a bad experience of a good product while paying too much to the dealer. Not good in any way and I hope you end up with another stove. No matter what the outcome you will never like this one.

Also, its always been said to thoroughly research your dealer as they are your first line of defense and with Harman, maybe your only line of defense that has always been a given with them. A good dealer would have had this rectified by now.

Not trying to make you feel badly or anything, just hoping it all works out for you. No one deserves to be handled like this.

I have though about that. The only stove that would physically match up with the exhaust pipes Is an accentra ( not happening) or a p series with a raised hearth pad or an xxv with all new piping and roof work.(non of which im paying a dime for) When I installed this stove last summer there was a mass amount of carpentry, electrical and sheetrock work I had to do to accommodate this stove as i needed to remove a wind shear brace to accommodate the wall thimble and you cant just remove a brace without addressing it correctly. Theres no where else physically this stove can go in the living room due to outdoor decks and overhangs. At this point im thinking about asking for a refund and buying a used advance on cl. Or even having the pipe removed from the roof and selling my pellets stash and accessories and just using my cheap natural gas option like I have been for the 15 years before I bought a pellet stove. Unfortunately im the odd man here who thinks getting into the world of pellet stoves was the biggest mistake .

All the big stove names are pretty much the same in that you must use the purchasing dealer for any and all warranty claims. Some have slacked a little bit if your dealer isn't providing adequate service a customer rep may step in and boost the dealer or provide an alternate. But even then the alternate hasn't made a nickel on the unit and is only due the warranty allotments. So they often aren't that motivated in speedy service.

Hope you get this all squared, And at least your dealer isn't just sitting on his hands(azz). Be patient, They will get to the root or in the worst case replace the unit.

Don't know how that bolt/stud was held in, Some are weldments. Some are pressed. Some are threaded and locked in place. If they were careful and hit the center of the stud. Should be good as OEM as long as they locked into place somehow(usually a tack weld or crimping method). If they missed center, Its a crap shoot. If they just screwed it in and didn't lock it. It will likely going back out over time. Not sure just any tech would be able to get this right.

Straightening also might have been better suited to a experienced tech. A little heat on the stud would have done wonders, Cold not so much and no wonder it just broke......

That is an excellent reminder, not for just this stove, but for other purchases also. I had a run in with Target with a purchase I made using PayPal. PayPal refunded me.

Lordz I think your dealer found this thread and got mad about it so he's giving you shoddy service.

    Kidding.

Seriously, though why do you say an XXV would require all new piping and roof work? The flue outlet size is standard, and they can't be in such different locations (height off the floor) you'd have to run all new, can they?

They do vary TT the p series are all 10" according to my manual , and my accentra is 7.66" + the cast iron floor pad adds another inch or so .

So you would just need to raise the hearth a tad bit.

    XXV is 8 5/8, Advance is 7 9/16. That's workable.
