Brand new Harman Advance... and im not happy with it

its funny they couldn't solve that one.....rattles are some of the easiest things to fix, usually

 

Well they know the stud Is bent. They just dont want to admit it. There beating around the bush. And im about to drop the hammer down on them

 

why the heck don't THEY try and straighten it?! Don't they realize extra trips cost money?

 

So today after getting fed up with waiting for my dealer for 2 weeks I called him. He said to me harman said everything was installed properly and the only thing that can be done is put a gasket behind that clean out plate to make up that gap in the bracket. Then all of a sudden he remembered doing this repair to other advances. Maybe lousy can chime in because I call BS and am wondering if I can do something about this with harman themselves. Ive never heard of this repair for so called "room for expansion"

 

In reading this thread I am not surprised at the way this deal has gone.

Very sorry to hear of the terrible service you are getting.

We were at a Dealer last winter to grab a little Whitfield that he had on Craigs cheap (Cause some putz worked on it and messed it up)

I wandered past the New Harman stoves and after looking at the $4K + price tag my BS flag was at full staff and fluttering wildly.

Sad that a stove that cost that much does not work perfect.

For $4K a stove should load and clean itself and do it quietly.

Hope you get this issue resolved ASAP

 

What's really sad is Ardisam replaced a 2 yr. out of warranty 1k dollar stove for me and here Lord is dealing with this crap on a stove over 4k and still under warranty and their fix is to rig it.

 

you can always call Harman yourself, Lord....why not? Seems you aren't getting much joy from the dealer. I have already purged our database of the number of previously sold Advances, but we have been selling them since they came out.....remember the old heavy cast iron hopper doors? Yea...since then. While I want to agree with a fellow dealer, in this case, I just cant. Never once have we had a rattling Advance. I find it unfathomable that noone can come up with a solution......

1. $crew it, bend the stud
2. Get a new plate....maybe this one is offspec?
3. check out the brick panel retainer thingy's and see if they can be adjusted via a crescent or hammer
4. Bring the noisy thing back, get an XXV-TC

 

What bothers me is that Harman makes a Great stove they, should just say that every once in a while maybe a lemon comes off the line , tell the dealer to replace the stove , make you Happy . Much better for them in the long run , you'll tell everyone how great you got treated instead of " i'm F'n pizzed and this POS stove is going up some one's AZZ .

One other thing the Harman Motto " Built to a standard not a price " for $ 4400 , make it right .

 

Haven't read the whole thread yet, but you should give the area Harman rep a dingle. I had to do that once. Was really good to deal with and looked after my issue right away.

EDIT: Here is a number for a rep I dealt with a few years ago, can't say if it's still a valid number. The guys name was Dean and was good to deal with. 1-416-807-4008. He's here in Ontario but still might be able to shake some trees for you.

Update....Dealer is here now and went with the bend the stud straight plan. Like I imagined the stud snapped right off. Now hes Focked. And im gonna drop the hammer down

It should be a new stove, IMO.

 

I should have bought an enviro empress. this is such complete crap. There coming back tomorrow because proper protocol is to call harman again and see what they want to do. PUT A NEW GOD dammED BOLT IN. Im tired of this dealer and im tired of harmans self righteous BS not talking to customers. They can shove this quality crap up there azz. Next step I go down to the court house and file suit. Sorry just venting
