Not at all. You should be used to your "YUPPIE" city folk friends by now, otherwise you would not have been there.
Check the color of the yolks. The farm eggs are brilliant orange while the store bought eggs are pale yellow. Much more omega-3's in farm eggs.
I think the proper response, given the context of the conversation would be: "Fire good. Ugh, Ugh. Make warm for cheap. Ugh." I probably would have said "Why, thank you. That's very kind of you to say.
Seems many folks now communicate like they text. Short one liners Not much practice communicating with people face to face. Kinda like here LOL We're loosing basic human interaction & Growing bigger thumbs
How much did you get Scotty? We got a foot, just a little bit of sleet for a couple hours but back to snow now.
One should never argue with an idiot - people might not know the difference. I just avoid playing leapfrog with Unicorns
Had a friend visit for two weeks two summers ago. I was absolutely shocked she had no idea that potatoes grew in the ground, beans grew on plants and vines, broccoli grew on plants...the list goes on and on. Where do people think vegetables come from???? This was a smart, well educated person.....She was fascinated by the vegetable garden! Reminded me of the stories about the waving fields of spaghetti....
Funny you post that, was cleaning out a storage closet and found some documents from years past - propain bills mixed in. Can't say I miss those
Guess my chickens didn't get that memo! The main difference I've noticed is the shell is a bit thicker on the homegrown eggs.
OK, I didn't read the entire thread, but this reminds me of my son's neighbor, she told my daughter-in-law that her husband mist be a survivalist, because he had so much fire wood. Then, the power went off and she came down the street to my son's house and wanted to borrow (borrow?????) some fire wood for their fire place so they could stay warm. Much to the dismay of my daughter-in-law, my son said, no but I will sell you some!!!!!
If they were trying to offend you they need to try harder! I would personally take it as a compliment.
Good for him. Borrow implies it will be returned later. If they need wood because they have none, how would they ever go CSS some to replaced what was borrowed.
only 4" before it turned to freezing rain. Had it stayed snow, we'd have gotten around 8-10" I am sure......
I had some family over with their kids, they were amazed by my having chickens and as always with those who don't keep any, asked me, what are their names? I replied, well, that's dinner, freezer, lunch, dinner2, freezer2... The look of horror on their faces was outstanding! There I stood resisting the urge to I have been told I am crazy to like CSS firewood. I just laugh. They all love sitting by the stove though when it's cold outside and they stop over! My friends who heat with wood and I always get a good laugh out of flatlanders too.
