Big pellet shortage in my area now. Don't have a whole lot of cash right now but down to two weeks worth of Okies so had to pop for what I could find. Home Depot 4 miles away had 3 ton left of Fireside Ultra. None of the Lowes near me or even further out have anything. The word around the web these days is the FU's are ok? I paid $219 for a ton. Can't recall if I ever tried these but fingers crossed they are good and not too messy I've been spoiled with the Sets that barely leave behind any ash!

I burned some last year and the beginning of the year....I really like them, good heat and low ash. They typically seem to be a good pellet.
They aren't Sets and you will see ash, but not bad at all. I regularly go down down to 0 or below with them. Better than a lot of other's you could have ended up with.
Xena, pretty decent pellet. As mentioned above, they're not Sets, but should do a pretty good job for you. I liked them, personally, and they burned well in my stove.....would not hesitate to get them again.
I really liked the FSU last year. This years ton gave me some clinkers after a heavy burn. That was before my combustion blower died so that may have contributed to the clinker issue!! (On its way out not drafting as good?) Definitely one of the better box store pellets!
Yep it burns anything but been spoiled all winter with Sets and Okies that leave behind almost no ash. Glad to see others are burning them and I was lucky enough to score a ton during a mini pellet shortage. Also glad to get them home and stacked inside this morning before another bawl buster of a storm rolls in tomorrow. Thanks again guys for giving the green light on these.
The newest batch of these I just picked up are burning just as good as the ones earlier this year. I bet you find them similar to the Sets.....perhaps just a little more ash but not much.
IHP you're right on the money. Burned them all last night and today. They burn hot and the ash is not bad at all. I think the Okies I have been burning leave more ash than these.
Xena....clean your stove, and then lie down....you might not be feeling your normal self....don't worry your head will clear and you will come to your senses....
