Hi, I have not been able to go anywhere most the day, browser error says no connection but my wifi signal is connected and strong. Tried both chrome and MS edge. Rebooted the modem, router, cleaned my cookies, checked all the connections. Checked and I still have 6 gb of data left for this month. Any clue?
Have you ever done any speed tests Speakeasy Speed Test - Powered by MegaPath Ookla has an app for phones and tablets
Hopefully it is a HW connection issue - that is easier to fix. Unplug every plug between modem and computer , computer and router, router and modem, then replug them all. reboot then reset the router. If that doesn't work, did your anti-virus update yesterday (and need to reboot)? I've had times that the security suddenly decided that internet browsing wasn't allowed so turned off service to that (still had email though). This was several years ago so I don't remember exactly how I fixed it, but it was within the software security settings.
Try pinging as shown below.. You should see similar numbers.. Could be a server issue with your ISP or Grizzly Adam hacked your PC lol.. Just kidding!
Thanks for all the suggestions!! I have done many of them and will go back through connections again tomorrow. Hughes Tech Support said I need to try it plugged into the modem to eliminate router issues. I will have to dismantle my desk and move my computer (ethernet/modem/sat cords not long enough to reach), big task, but I will try to get it done, I am going into internet withdrawal . It will work for me for a minute here and there, but not most the time. (Errors out saying webisite is wrong or taking too long to respond) Could be plausible if were not ALL websites I visit. I'll update another day
One of my kids told me to try this. Down For Everyone Or Just Me -> Check if your website is down or up? Good luck!
Mine got real bad/flakey.I have usb 3g/4g at&t.Turned out to be the usb dongle/modem.I had a spareA good tool to test systems is Netuptime. It showed my modem rapidly going on/offline. Net Uptime Monitor - the simple Internet Connection Monitor
Thanks all I have to dismantle my pc and move it, then reassemble to the modem/router hardwired for tech support to continue and I have not done that yet It goes up and down constantly. I think I am starting to see a correlation with the wind and my downtime. Sigh, I will get it done eventually. All you are the best!
