I am a belligerent hard headed dink. Then when you push it I get worse! A double wide was put in across the alley from me. The first renters created a driveway that goes from street to alley. They start backing out into alley and onto my property and if not for a frozen snow plow ridge would have backed into my camper. I place 2 rocks to slow down any traffic on my lot. New neighbor moves in and their kid very luckily for his life chose a time we were camping to go rock climbing with his car. Mommy has the gaul to ask me if I want to put the claim for damage to the car on my homeowners insurance. Now a month later found out she is running her mouth about a lawsuit. Just bring it!

The kid went across the alley, onto my property, hits rock so fast he sets the cars rear axle on top of the rock and plows the rock 4 feet, panicked, slams it in drive tumbles rock under the car til it comes out. I had just replaced the kitchen flooring in my camper which usually sits here. The squares on the flooring are 6 inches. The paver bricks are 12 inch square so you have some references to size of rocks and distance plowed. The paver bricks are where the axles of the camper are parked on. 20160817_173618.jpg 20160817_173558.jpg

Yeah, that took a bit of effort.

The only claim that needs to be made is that a moron was driving and hit a boulder.

Last couple nights I went and relocated a couple more speed bumps. They are not just sitting like the first 2 were. They have been dug into the ground to be a bit more movement restricted!

    X2 on the bigger rocks.

Ill never forget the time I found a rock with my plow truck. Guy really didn't want snow piled there I'd guess. It ended up in his yard....so did the snow ;)

I'd be looking to get my hands on a few of those concrete parking space blocks. Lay a line of those along the property line then pin them down with re bar rods.

That's funny. I'm guessing the car in question wasn't, shall we say, high end? Chances are the lawyer fees (and you'd probably need a GOOD lawyer to have any chance of winning) would far outweigh the damage to the car. Check local listings, but in most places you can't recover legal fees in small claims court.

Somebody threaten to sue me once for something similar. My response was, "is that a promise?"

I just hate it when my rocks run out in front of someone and crawl under their mid 90s Mercury Sable. Maybe I need to fence them in better so they won't wander.:loco:

I used to work part time on a farm in high school. One of the farmer's pasture was right up against a 90* curve in the road. The fence got hit multiple times when people were going too fast and didn't make the curve. One night some guy trashed a fence and the next morning we set 4 8" I-Beams in the ground 60" deep and welded 4 sections of train track to them.

In the middle of doing this somebody stopped and said that "that fence is going to kill somebody". The farmer replied "only if they hit it...that's on them...not me".

I could not, repeat, could not, live with neighbors that close. Where the next one cannot be seen is far enough apart for me. I'm the last one on a dead end road. I had my house built there because I'm so "social" .

There's a farm down the road and the barn sits next too a sharp corner. It has been hit many times over the years. They finally put Jersey barriers next to it. I don't know if anyone has hit them, but the barn is fine.

Intentionally setting hazards can end up losing in court or jail.
Sadly there are cases of such things.
Alot of it depends on area(state) also.
