My Dutchwest stove

had it about four years now, like it. I heat only with wood I do have a central unit but it get very little use.

 

Looks great for a 4 year old stove.

How much wood your run thru it per season.

This season, depending on your location , may be
more than past years.

 

I have always been around those stove and we had them growing up. I had one in my house for years and just recently made the switch the T6. I never had the pleasure of burning one of the newest models like you have but I did hear that they were much nicer than the old double door model like mine.

I especially like the fact you can see the fire through the glass on that one. I used to fight to get the double doors sealed and it was a pain. Very nice stove thanks for sharing that with us. Also if I haven't already said so welcome to the forums and glad to have you here.

 

I always liked the looks of those stoves, is that the XL?

 

I live in Arkansas, it has been colder than usual, it is the extra large one. that pic was taken when we first got it, but it still looks as good. We will probably burn 5 to six cords of red oak, hackbeery and red elm this year. Mostley red oak.' this is what I have ready to split in the yard now. and some that's stacked. this will be next years wood.

Here come the questions, if you'd care to share......
How big is the home, and how well is it insulated?
Also, when you say cord, do you mean "face, "rick", or true cord?
Only asking so that we have an accurate value.......and, we're nosy. Ok, I'm nosy. There, I said it.

Home is about 1200 square feet. insulation could be better. would be a true cord, I really don't measure my wood. I just stack it and burn it. For reference that fence is six foot high and poles are ten foot apart.

Couldn't tell if you had space (pallets or something) under the stacks
to keep the wood off the ground for good air circulation ?

Thanks, I have tin under the wood. it seems to work ok. been doing it for years. I did have that bigger barn behind the lean to half full of wood. I had about three winters supply. still using off it this year. That ole trailer wouldn't haul much, just got it and have to do some work on it. this is how I hauled all this wood here.

 

There was several truckloads, didn't take a pic of every load.

Monster saw & maul for a monster tree.

The way the paint is worn off the pipe handle of the maul,
it must see lots of use.
Makes my back hurt just looking at it . LOL
