Ran a tank of fuel thru the splitter today.
Fingers started to get cold, good time to stop.
Splits OK frozen but sometimes it really pops .

Set up: laid out some carpet , going vertical

Good thing to have extra gloves. I've even been known to take along the Mr Buddy Heater to dry out and warm up cold gloves.

Hydro oil in the splitter warms up nicely. Use the cylinder as a glove/hand warmer.

    Hey, a good idea.
I got one for my tent a couple months ago for hunting.
Was great to warm the tent up in the early AM

Was thinking of a fire but the smoke seems to always blow right at me.
Gonna get some propane bottles today, gotta keep the bones warm.

    Yea
I idled it for about 10 minutes to warm it up.
It wasn't geting very warm, but ambient temp was in the 26°.
I put in in the heated shop so initial start up temps are warmer.

We're to get 42° tomorrow, hope to get some splitting done.
May get some done later today.

Other option is to go cut another load but not sure the road in will thaw.
If we get a few days above freezing I may try another trip .

Well, you don't want the trailer going sideways on you.
Too bad you have to drive all the way there to find out for sure if the road is good,, I guess, you will just have to make an educated guess.
Hi 46 today supposed to get back up to the mid-60s though

I can always get a small load, some in the truck , some in the trailer.
warmer it is with a snow packed road, the slipperier it is

    WOW 60°s,
We'll see those temps soon, about May/June 2017 LOL :)

Isn't it nice to have everything cut to the length you want it and popping apart easily? Looks like like a fun load.

A cold day splitting wood is always better than a warm one at work! Especially when it's such a nice pile.
