Our first stop was at Shawn Curry's home and we were entertained well. He has a nice place there. Of course, one of the first things we wanted to see were those beautiful booths he was getting ready to install in a local resturant.

After we left the Curry household, we had some heavy rain most of the rest of the trip so not much for pictures. Fortunately the rain let up some in VT so we took the opportunity to stop at the Long Trail brewery. Both of us loved the little bench they had just outside the pub and Judy wanted to take it home but there was not enough room. I suggested we show the picture to Shawn Curry and give him some food for thought!

    No parking except for kegs!

Notice the green grass! Soon they will be white and it did get white on the tops of the mountains on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

A busy time at the factory the day before the Open House. First off is Donna and Lorin. Then some of the art work and some of the bookends they gave away at the Open House. Most of the factory was working all day Friday on making bookends and other items for the open house.

I should add that Lorin did have her dog but to get this picture I could not get the dog in it as the dog was right at my feet. Yes, they allow workers to do this! Not too many offices would allow such a thing but Woodstock does.

One only has to look at the shirt to tell he is a painter! He did some beautiful work too.

Tom Morrissey in his normal work clothes. You won't find him in a suit or white shirt very often as he is busy out in the shop. Second picture is Penny who many have spoken to over the telephone. Yes, she also gets busy in the shop as all of the crew does.

First picture below shows the ornery one at work with her tongue sticking out. This is how I get treated after being a nice guy! Then there is the water jet machine waiting to get set up if the ornery one ever let's Ken get back to work.

Next picture is some of the bookend parts being cut out with the laser and some of the bookends after being painted.

Now there is one perpetual smile from a super nice guy, our good friend Canadian border VT

Part of the Firewood Hoarder's Club (I think Jon also posted a picture like this). Then we have burndatwood Backwoods Savage and My IS heats my home. Sorry but I can't identify whose hand that is.  Also Judy's luggage, whoops, her purse, on the table. Well, it is big enough to be called luggage.

And the Absolute Steel on display burning hotly.

The party was over so we headed home. Was really worried about the route with snow falling but fortunately we made it over the mountains okay. These 2 pictures we had just started to get into the first snow area so I pulled over to dig out the camera for Judy.

A few more pictures from Vermont.

And the last picture just seems to fit nicely here with the snow pictures. The first thing I did when we got home before unloading the car was to get the stove hot. It felt great too. The Fireview still works great and has all new gaskets this fall too.

Thank you all for viewing and many thanks to many good folks who made this trip possible.

Quite a few people admired the tool work on Judy's purse.

Hopefully more will be able to make the next one. It was great to sit down and talking with everyone. We could have easily spent several more hours there.

Most welcome my friend , did you like the Long Trail Ale ?? That's what I drink when we go skiing at Kilington which is just up the road from the brewery.

As I think of you all as being out east, it did seem strange to have you talk about making a trip out east. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Judy says give her a price and she'll gladly pay you to build one like that.

Well Will, we did bring some home with us! I was a little disappointed in the Harvest Barn Ale but got some anyway along with the regular Long Trail. I liked that you could sample it before buying too. Nice!
