Hopefully your vehicle repairs are done after the battery is replaced.

But yes, it's better to replace the battery now than when it's butt cold outside.

Me too.... & on that bright side, it's all been nice weather to do it in... looking at the battery... it was only 11 years old(6/05), so it was time...

Cut up some small stuff today. About a face cord of maple and ironwood that is ready to be burnt. Had it on the side at the cottage for a few years and got after it finally. No pics, just take a Yooper's word for it!!

My son and I moved a few buckets of firewood this afternoon. Looking at the temps in the future I have decided it is time to get the wood boiler going.

    Sad but true!
The newspaper ads selling firewood still read "firewood $65-$75 (depending)
And people buying this year will be burning this year for the most part....

    sigh!

Fired up the el dorado in the basement this afternoon and then after a STT of 585f, turned on the furnace blower motor since the drolet is in reach of the return plenum that I cut two registers into. Warmed up the house 3f by just that trick!

Just think if the little stove was replaced by the nc 30!
Still working on 99 for that project, but don't think it'll happen this year-maybe next?
