I went out this morning for a reading and it was down to 2.5 inches from over 3.5 last night, I ran to recycle and then checked it again, it was down to 2.25 inches. I emptied it and then brought it inside, we have a small crack in the bottom which we glued up, it's back out there so we'l see if it works. I would say we had another 0.50 inches of rain last night. I think what made it crack was when we had two nights of below 32 degrees it cracked, I thought that the small amount (1/8) of rain had been emptied but I guess not.
I had to bring the plastic tube on the rain gauge back in because it still wasn't holding water, I think it's fixed this time. After having it back outside after the second fix, it has 0.25 inches of rain in it and it's still coming down pretty good. I think since the rain started we have close to 5 inches, we needed it bad.
just got back from NH it's definitely snow on the mountains.. high winds leaves rain and above 1000 feet chunky white rain!
We got a lot of rain, last totals this afternoon were .56", then it really poured, I'm sure adding another 1.00"+
I think our rain gauge still has the leak in it so I'll bring it in for the winter and go through it better, maybe I can find the leak. We sure needed the rain on the east coast.
