Hey guys! New to the forum and burning pellets. Thought I would make my first post under this thread because I just bought an Advance as well. Stove is 6 years old but had only been used one season before the old fella that bought it passed and his son pulled out the stove. Had some initial trouble with it (6 blink shut off) but repeated cleanings finally revealed debris in the hose to the pressure switch. It's been running for 3 weeks solid and IT IS AWESOME. Clinking of pellets, occasional auger hum and blower is all you hear.

Bought the stove for $1600 (Canadian dollars, so about 6 bucks American lol) This stove here in Canada retails at the high end for $5300 and best price I found was $4300 plus taxes.

Like you lord, I very much liked the style of the Advance, and its heat output is more than adequate for the area I'm heating with it. Here's hoping you resolve the problems with yours.

Technician came out today and agreed just by walking thru my living room and hearing, the stove rattle that there is indeed a problem. Its definitely the right side clean out plate. He would noy commit to saying what I know is the problem.that the clean out bracket stud is bent to the left. (Clearly) He said he has to call harman and see what there solution to the issue is. My guess is because the stud is fixed there might not be one. But maybe a few harman dealers can chime in. Hopefully this can be repaired. Dont want to have to live with this rattle, or get a halfassed repair done. Or even a new stove.

Good luck man, overall this sounds like good news, and it's headed in the right direction. Now just wait and see what they do next.

I am surprised with your experiences. Getting a stove at that price and to still have issues isn't acceptable. I really hope you get a satisfactory resolution. I can see that you wanted performance and good looks, that is why you paid the big bucks to get both. Both is what you should have at that price. For me, it was performance alone. I paid $4000 for the p68, no trim kits. Ugly box, maybe, but very very functional with a proven history of being a real heater. I got what I paid for and then some.

I'm using Pinnacle brand natural fir pellets. Don't have anything to compare to since this is my first go, but they don't seem to produce a lot of ash. It's been a steady -6 Celsius (about 20 Farenheit) and burning through about 1 1/3 to 1 1/2 bags a day. I'm using it in a shop/living area that's about 1200 sq. ft with 13' ceiling open to an equal size area upstairs. Most "unfortunate" thing is that it's turning out to be the warmest spot in the house (NG/electric heat). I've been threatening my cold blooded wife (literally, not figuratively) that I need to turn down the stove so it doesn't feel so cold when we go into the house to "equalize" the temperature but she's not buying it LOL.

Still scouring the forum rules for that newbie beer buying exerpt.
