No sir. Run the saw like you stole it. I'd run 40:1 myself in any saw. But others have run 50:1 for years and never had any issues.
The only things that need to break in is the rings into the cylinders. Even then, I like to break in motors under load after a few brief heat cycles. They make more power that way. Run that puppy!
I've noticed, as have some others, that the carbs on some saws need to adapt to getting their internals wet. Meaning, after defueling saw and running it dry, then storing it dry for some months, it won't run well if I just gas it up & go. What works: fuel them & purge the carbs a few days before running them. Then I don't have to mess about with iterations of adjustment. Not gonna name the carbs/saws. Just part of my SOP now.
