the batteries in the smoke detectors. I think we need to change the batteries in the smoke and co2 detectors when we light the stoves rather than wait till daylight savings time. Happy heating season to all. Safety first.
thanks for the lifesaving reminder. I may or may have not removed the CO detector because the battery was low and it was beeping yesterday. Must get new 9v batteries tomorrow......
The smoke detector closest to our bedroom started chirping last weekend. Freshened up the battery, no more chirping. Done. Great reminder TD.
Great reminder! I got two new detectors last year and they are supposed to last 10 years on the batteries. I still need to do a check of them, just to make sure - so I will put that on my to-do list for this weekend.
Take the time to check the dates on them also. Anything 10 years or older should be replaced as well.
CO is produced whenever fuel is burned and indoors it just build up to toxic levels when our appliances malfunction. We often forget changing batteries promptly. One has to be very alert in ensuring that your home security monitoring systems are working fine One good solution I would suggest is changing them when you set the clocks back in the fall and ahead in spring.
