Hmmm, I am gonna buy a new one anyway and see if it makes a difference. Do you have any suggestions on where to get one?

I believe like Smokey said, I think there is a weep hole near the back of that tube that needs to be free of debris

There is a hole underneath the back of the igniter. It's clear.

If you have a segment gone you can have problems, usually slow ignition.

How important are these collars on this igniter? Do I need to get one that has one or can I go collarless

You'll need it to keep it secure. I think my collar was tack welded to the stove and separate from the igniter IIRC.....I just swapped the igniter itself out

There is only one set screw holding the igniter in, there is a collar that is part of the igniter.

chit...can you separate it from the igniter? If not, you'll need to get one with a collar

Maybe I am using the wrong term. There is some sort of ring on the base of my igniter that doesn't allow it to go any further in the igniter tube.

This is stove number 2, a complement to stove number one. Stove number one could handle the load no problem.

A propane torch works wonders in an emergency.
