I don't burn pellets but my father sure does. He has a large house and thus heats it with wood pellets. That was because his old house burned because of an outside wood boiler. Afraid of firewood, my mom insisted on oil only, until she paid the bill for their 5000 square foot home a few years. Now they heat via a A-Maiz-ing Heat Wood Boiler and I think my father is the unofficial spokesperson for it. He has had it for 4 years or so and burns around 12 ton a year with radiant floor heat and for his domestic hot water so the thing never shuts off. I considered one for awhile, I like options and being able to burn pellets, corn or coal is appealing to me, but I am 42 years old too and can do firewood still. My dad is 70 and a disabled Vietnam Veteran so firewood is out.

Even for those of us that were here, some got them some didnt. My local Lowes locations were out in less than a day or what they had was crap.

Funny to find this thread. First time on the site in months.

Not going to be burning many pellets this year. I have 1.5 tons left over from a few years ago yet, a tank full of propane, and corn is running in the low $3.00 range. Love the corn heat, but handling it is not as much fun. I need to start getting to cornvac put together soon. Gonna be burning before too long.

Yep. back at it again. Nighttime temps getting to the low 40s this week.

I did find this big fellow this summer while out in my canoe.
This one is right up there in the top of the size range for northern snappers, and is likely 70 to 100 years old.

I've checked in a couple times, but I'm hauling pellets, cleaning the stove tomorrow and have been looking up info for a friend of mine. He just moved into a house with a Whitfield WP4.
