I think we had a high of 50 today, so when I came in for lunch I started a small Cherry fire in the Liberty.
34 this morning. Had a small fire overnite. Brought a bin of short wood up from the shop before dark last nite for the TR. Time to start getting ready for winter.
Low thirties this morning here in WNY. First fire of the season this morning. Had some locust kindling followed by ash and cherry splits. Started fire about 5, letting it die now, house is nice and toasty.
Looks like day 6 of quasi winter around here. Temperatures hovering in a narrow band a few degrees above and below freezing every day. I guess on the bright side it's nice and toasty inside, but it's a bit early for my liking. As always, it's the poplar keeping the chill away.
I did my first overnight burn last night with larch. Ill be ready for a reload shortly which will be my day time wood of doug fir or lodgepole pine. We got a few inches of snow overnight. It looks like it will continue through the day before it warms up a bit tomorrow. The mountains sure look pretty covered in snow.
We had 31 this morning, we did do an overnight burn and a fire today. Tonight I think we'll hit 27 or 28.
Same here. Low down to 39F tonight. Getting ready to start the first fire of the season so it's easier to get out of bed in the morning.
Day 9 of early winter. Temperature sitting at -9 C or about 15 F earlier, warming up to just above freezing this afternoon.
Wow, gettin' chilly up there. Forecast of 40 last night, but it was 35 about 4 am. 36 when I got up. Small kindling and pine fire to warm the stove and house, then added a couple more Ash splits. Stove is still kickin' out some heat (I'm liking this deck), and IAT is 75. Ahhhhh.
It's definitely not normal weather for around here. Sure October is cool at night (still warmish in the day), but it usually snows on Halloween or shortly after, and then it might stick around. It's as if we time jumped 3 weeks or so lol
Youve got us beat down in the Rockies. Its 0 c and snow rain right now. Expecting a few good storms from the west so we remain just above freezing through to next week.
We've had 40s at night, 60's-70s in the day. Still coasting on thermal mass. Won't be long now, though.
We'll be heading to 30 tonight so after doing a small job for the wife, I'll start a small Cherry fire and then have another for an overnight fire.
