yes I have... they didn't seem to be the problem that O'Malley's were... Must be a Softer? Hardwood if that's possible.. forgot to mention with the O'Malley's that the Carbon deposits and speedbumps left in the burnpot we're HARD AS ROCKS.!! It felt like I was trying to scrape IRON off of the burnpot. Very Sticky also. can't believe I forgot that complaint.
It was explained to me that they are separately run mills but marketed by the same group. Each mill has its own site and structure. But sharing a sales group to save costs?
All those companies are completely separate and have nothing to do with each other. The confusion may be in that they sell their product to distributors who handle all those brands. I can say for 100% certainty if it says Eagle Valley on the bag it is manufactured in Princeton B.C. If it says Lacrete it will be manufactured in Lacrete alberta, Spruce Pointe is manufactured by Vanderwell Contractors in Slave Lake Alberta and North country is manufactured in Manning Alberta by West Fraser Mills. Eagle valley and Lacrete do load bulk and have been known at times to let their product be re bagged.
Why are we seeing less North Country pellets around here this season? With the exception of one or two dealers, most that carried them last season are not offering them now. Heard a rumor the North Country mill changed hands this past season, any truth to that?
Yes, they did change hands. They were bought by West Fraser mills one of the largest lumber companies in North America. They are very close to the oil sands and have been doing bulk shipments. ( A better return as they don't have to go nearly as far). I think the primary reason you haven't seen much of it is very very few dealers have had to replenish stock from last winter. They all have very low inventories but are unsure of the road ahead. Many were burned by the box store fiasco ( depends on your point of view) of last season. The pellet pigs are ahead of the game, but most consumers haven't given any thought to ordering pellets for the upcoming season. The glut of last season has taken it's toll and there doesn't appear to any sense of urgency to buy for the upcoming season.
Less north country. I havent seen somersets or greenways in years. And ive been looking. What happened to them?
If you go to Somerset's site you can do a search which will show you dealer locations . There's is some connection with Lowes but it seems the insiders have the delivered supply already spoken for and very little if any make it to the floor . Also Blue Ridge hardwood pellets is a new one out that looks promising and of course Truman hardwoods which is also limited and not easy to find.

The information in that write-up isn't accurate. We still see Geneva branded pellets for sale all over the place around here, and I just saw a load of Lignetics at TSC in bags labeled 100% hardwood and the pallets were labeled from West Virginia.
The only thing I can say is there seems to be plenty of left over Geneva from last year sitting around in this neck of the woods that don't seem to be moving .
I'd send an email to Liggie questioning what's up but they never responded to me the last three emails I sent them about the softwood's and the Forest Pride pellets....that irritates me.
