is it only me that finds it strange this clowns first move is to make a video ,not call for help or get to a hospital ?
I would think the stress of the attack (in shock?) might account for him making a short video, maybe even to help him cope or get his head straight after the event. He just got beat up by a grizzly twice, and had no cell service. On the other hand...even if grizzly bears are a protected species there, why would he not have had his revolver out when he first encountered the bear? Would you not be saying "hey bear, FO bear" across the top of your ready to use firearm?
Bears freak me out. I know you chances of getting attacked are nearly zero but if I ever go off the beaten path in bear country I will have the biggest hand cannon i can find on my hip.
I agree the video might have helped him cope a bit and who knows maybe he thought if he doesnt make it out there would be something for his family to watch detailing what he went through? Did he say he had a revolver? maybe I missed that part.
I live on the door step of bear country. Ive had bears in the pine trees behind my house, sitting on the neighbours lawn and walking in the lane next to my house. When I brush Tundra (see avatar) I spread her fur around the edge of my lot. I dont know if it helps but I like to think it does. They are also all over the bush which is two snow balls throw from my house. You know how your teenager kids are always wanting rides from you because they are to lazy to walk? Well my daughter was 14 last year and she called me to ask for a ride from her friends house that was only a 12 minute walk away on well lit town streets. I told her to walk because it wasnt raining or cold out... She called me 15 minutes later saying she retracted back to her friends house because there was a bear sitting in front of the gas pumps at the closed for the evening gas station which she had to walk by lol. I went and got her. Yeah lukem bears scare me to. I can smell them when I walk the dog in the bush. I see sign of them all the time but the animal that Ive had the most run ins with is angry mamma moose. Darn they can put the stomp on you something fierce. Never trust a moose!!
