    Boomstick, you are right on both counts. The plot of land used to be GE's Research and Development in the 50's and that is where they invented the Mercury Vapor lights, there are barrels of Mercury buried there so I am told. I don't believe they will get approval to build anything.

    Stop by Sunday morning I will be out back after 6 in the morning. Got some black walnut in tonight, you're welcome to half of what you cut to take home average length is 32" I'll post pictures in the morning if I can remember.

    Sounds like the big city to me I don't think we have 10 streets here in the village but we do have a nice shopping mall because the next town over had merchants who lobbied them not to incorporate it there. Our little village had to have them build a water tower for us just so we could serve that mall. It does hold down our property taxes nicely having a big regional mall in a tiny village.

    Unfortunately, they are working with the EPA to try and get "Brownfield cleanup credits" to fund cleanup of the site. I'm not saying that cleanup is a bad thing, but what they're trying to jam in there is definitely a bad thing.

    We had my great nephews here in upstate NY a few years back and they were scared to drive. They said they couldn't believe we had a stop sign every other block and in some parts of town every block. They were from Indiana and said they could see for miles on a stretch of road and not have any cross roads. Funny what you get used to and think everybody else has the same way of life.
