Tell me that wasn't one big PITA. Wound up having to change the cabinet above because of the butcher work the previous owner did.

My son and his wife and a friend are doing the work. I'm not allowed to climb etc. I just use the plastic for materials. I hope I get to work on the inside of my porch area. I'm planning a window bench the length of the porch. Under the bench will be doors and drawers for storage. there will be a door as the main entrance, one to our living area, and one on the other end that will go to the solar space. All three doors are full view. I did the full view so the dogs can see out. They are my alarms when there is something moving about outside. They usually sit on the couch or their bed and watch tv and keep a vigil of the doors. They are fairly large and have a good deep bark.

I seem to come here more often for words of wisdom them i do for wood related stuff...

    Im down, feeling real down.
My bestfriend is moving an hour and a half away.
Im use to him being 20-30 minutes away.

    Im talking about my Dad..
He is the closes family member i have left on my side of the family.
I simply dont have much of a relationship with anyone else.

Im really having a hard time dealing with this.

I know he'll just be up the road..

My advice to you is the same as to everyone else....spend as much time as you can with them. (Mom or Dad)
You won't regret it once they're gone.

Caffeine going in. Looks like we received a little rain last night, and it's sprinkling now. Hard to tell what we did get last night though, still too dark out. I don't think there will be any dirt work today though. But plenty of other stuff to do. Dump run, go and pick up roofing material, plumb the water line into house, etc., etc., ......

I was going to start on a month long project over at a Christian Kids Camp I volunteer at, but that might get delayed until Spring. It looks like I'll start on another load of wood. I shipped a load on Friday, but to my surprise I still have 4 cord in my pile so with a good day I should have another load to ship tomorrow.

Its not like the paper mills need it though. They claim Woodland can stop buying wood now and go until next summer without having to buy another stick. As a logger, that makes you sick to your stomach.

Any of the guys who get to or around St Johns MI go to Phillips orchard accoss from Uncle Johns cider mill. It is way better and much more personable.... They have a store front on US27 but if you go all the way down the dirt road instead they have the farm store and orchard too. Some of the best hot cider and fresh donuts around.....
