So my local auction house has this bow bar and a pile of chain (not pictured).

And I imagine I am going to buy it. Honestly I doubt anyone else at the auction has any clue what it even is, very very likely I will get it for a buck.

But in the off chance none of that is true and I have to pay real money for it, I would like to know more about it.

I looked her over top to bottom and see no [makers] marks what so ever, but they may be light and its covered in surface rust.

Now I'm not looking for a CSI analysis of this thing, but really just curious if it looks familiar to anyone. And if so, if perhaps I could get some info on it. maker, value (what I should pay), what it can be used on etc...

Might this even be a universal[ish] type bar setup?

Any input is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

My guess it'll fit Mac or Poulan. But it sure is worn in that one area.

[IMG] The Stellite hardface is worn off the bar right where you cut with it. Notice the flat area just before where the spike or dog attaches. Unless you are prepared to rebuild the bar where it is worn out, I would stay away from it. The Stellite is shiny like stainless steel and it is worn away from the bar in the flat area.

Looks like it was for a Mac? Would easily adapt to a 60cc+ saw if you are good at welding and drilling. Would need to reposition the oiler hole
