So who sells the big dolmars in blue. Are all the new dolmars blue instead of red? I live in oregon and makita/dolmar is not common at all. I looked on the web awhile ago and could not find any makita saws larger than 64cc, this is probly a laugh to some of the east coast folks. But no joke i like these saws and just wonder. Btw if there has got to be some dolmar dealers in pnw but im tellling ya they dont advertise.

Actually the blue saws will be going away. You will see them branded as Makitas wearing Dolmar red. And my understanding is that the Dolmar name will slip away too.

Makita did put a few together that were 73 and 79cc. Not common but not impossible to find either.

It's pretty darn easy to bump one up to 73cc or 79cc yourself if you want.

Not many people are aware of the quality of Dolmar/Makita's, except for those that spend the time to do their research.

one of my 7900's is pushing 20years, still runs as good as the newer one which is only about 4 years old, have 112 and 116si also 30years+? old ,still run great course that series is getting tough to find parts but no different than any other name parts wise in that age group. as far a Makita messing up Dolmar time will tell but for now it has been hands off as far as design is concerned except of course for the !!@#$%^&*()_ EPA but again same across the board on that.

I looked at the dealer locator on the dolmar website

    DOLMAR - Dealer locator

looks like there are about 7 full service dealers spread out over the state. Couple near the west coast around the Roseburg and Eugene areas.

Fantastic saws. I chose my 7910 and 6100 over the Stihl 461 and 362 and price didn't have anything to do with it! Their pro models are still bench made in Germany.

I have a Makita 6410 a dolmar 6400 a 7900 a 112 and a 115i. Never knew anyone else made saws until I read about it on the internet. Makita is primarily online sales. It's easy to buy the 6410 Makita and make it a 7900 with a factory P&C for under $200. Power wise it's worth the money to do it as the weight is the same. I thought I heard dolmar was going to start sales online but not confirmed.

That is untrue. Unless you have some new info to back this statement up with?

I kinda knew about the dealership in eugene or, that is 150 miles west of where im at. I would like to have a dolmar dealer right here where i live. Our local dealer is pretty good customer service, but a little high priced. Competition would be nice.

That's what my local Dolmar/Makita dealer told me this summer when I was shopping for a 421. I'm certainly no expert.

Thats a cool color scheme would be very pretty on a 7910 with the big air filter.

There's a Dolmar dealer just past the big stihl dealer for me. Yeah, there's a stihl dealer closer to me, but the big stihl and the Dolmar dealer are only a little ways out of the way from my drive home from work.

I've yet to stop into the Dolmar dealer yet though. The last time I was there was when they sold Polaris sleds and quads.

I do have a feeling that my next saw will be. Dolmar or a 64 cc makita.

Check Home Depots website, they've got the used Makita saws for sale listed online now. There's 4 or 5 around me they're unloading right now.

That is one of the most desirable 100cc+ saws out there. And unfortunately, a tough one to find.

I guess another question is are any of the dolmars auto tune? Or are the just cat mufflers and carb limiters?

No AutoTune that I know of. Most are cat mufflers, notable exception being the 6100 with its empty muffler and strato-charge system.
