its a damp dreary day so i decided to burn some splitter droppins to take of the chill ,it feels great to be burning
Too early for that Unclefess!!! Still pretty warm in my neck of the woods. Cooler than last week, though, and the nights are a bit chilly. Great for sleeping in my opinion.
Methinks it might happen yet this week though. The dampness is beginning to be felt a bit too much here so we're right next to building a fire. Naybe tomorrow? Maybe the next day? Time will tell.
We have ours going too. Overcast and 54 degrees with a northeast wind off the ocean. Punks and uglies in the box. I don't even have the stove tools out yet. No sun today to warm the house up.
Since FIL got here, the house is generally kept at least 70. Had another kindling fire this am. I have to admit though, I'm having fun making fire and sitting in front of the stove in the morning.
I had one the other night....I thought I was gonna die...guess I pushed it a little it was still 49 degrees...The furnace does kick on in the am, I have it set at 62...
I should have had a fire a few nights ago, but held out. Going to throw the brush up the chimney a time or two this weekend first. Looking forward to the first burn. Looks nice though. Good use for splitter waste
October...................did you mean November ?.................dont waste that wood - it doesnt grow on trees you know!!!!!!!
Uh, I've had several fires already. Not unusual for me, as the last week of Sept. is normal start of burning season here at the old homestead.
In due time, in due time.....I'll probably run the boiler a bit if I need some heat. I like to make sure it is working well before winter kicks our butts.
After having temps around 90 lately, this certainly feels a bit chilly. It's down to 70 in the house but I'm still wearing shorts and hanging tough. I don't yet want to admit that summer is over, so I will hold out a while longer. But when it hits 65 in here, that's where I draw the line! And so do my dogs.
Chilly and wet here today. Broke down and started a fire. Just a little one this afternoon to get the Fireview warmed up. Now its 600 STT and the house is starting to warm up and dry out. Probably fire it all weekend.
We're waiting for the house to cool off now after a couple of fires. Looks like a warmup coming next week so not many fires should be needed then.
