We have clay at one job site now. Slippery as snot. No, the clay is more slippery than that!
    Not fun.

Yeah, we have clay here too. Any time I've had to dig around here it's a pita.

Spent the evening fixing my garage door. Again. If I couldn't fix stuff I'd be bankrupt. New door was $900 not including installation. I managed to fix the old one that got all bent up for $50 and 3 beers.

I know exactly what your talking about. Was at my son's house while he replaced two sink supply valves, water line to the fridge and a new line for the new dishwasher he has coming in. Along the way he had to replace some copper pipe that was corroding. A new trap on the sink as well. Glad I was only the consultant on the job.

I rewired Suzuki's poor job of wiring a motorcycle's charging system. Granted, it's basically a 20 yr old bike now. It was international bike of the year in 97, because it's a blast to ride. But they used too small of a wire gauge, and no direct charging legs to the battery. So current from the regulator/rectifier had to go all the way around the wiring loom, with too small of gauge wire.

It was actually discharging the battery while running. Now it should be charging. I suppose I could use the multi meter to verify, but I know that the speed the starter spins indicates how well the battery is charging. Most guys that do this mod report over 14 volts at the battery up from as low as 11 v going into the battery while the engine is running.

I didn't come up with the charging system mod, but I did the mod for free with work freebies mostly cable that was in the scrap bin.

It's the red terminals coming out of the white connector under the subframe.

There's an inline fuse on the positive side of course.

I just need to take it around the block or a few miles to verify before I take it on a 70 mile round trip to work. It runs well on the stand, so I can't see why it wouldn't be good. I don't like surprises, so, I'd rather deal with an inconvenience, than a problem 30+ miles from home at the end of a work day.

Hopefully tomorrow it won't be raining after work so I can test ride it, then know it's good to take Thursday and Friday.

The next mod is either separating the 2 headlights out of the wiring harness and running relays to take 110-120 watts or of the all gauge wiring, or my better thought was to switch to led H4 headlight bulbs. Those run about 20 w for 2 of the LED bulbs, and the LEDs are brighter.

Reducing the wattage used through the wiring should alleviate the issues.

    Here's a different angle. IMG_20160927_212718602.jpg

    Nice work there Horkn !

Caffeine going down. Time to figure out the order in which to do all the stuff I have to do the next two days that I have off, today and tomorrow.

I must have pulled a muscle in my back the other day and didn't even know it at the time. Boy was it sore last night and still is this morning. Not going to be good working with it today. I will try my best to have the machine do the work. But I know there are some things I'm going to have to do by hand.

Rare day off work (from my day job anyway). Was hoping to mow for the last time, but it is drizzling so that won't get done.

Morning folks, coffee/breaky intake commencing. Then off to prepping the plow for a little paint. Horkn, fine job on the re wiring job. I had a c90 at one point that suffered the same weakness in the electrical system. Too bad Suzuki decided to "cheap out" on those bikes because mechanically they were great otherwise. Everyone have a great day.

Clear cold morning on the walk. Stars were out, a sliver of a orange coloured moon was showing and the lights of Sointula were reflecting on the water so no wind. It was 4 C/38 F out. campinspecter is taking a load of wood over to Mom's today. Yesterday was like summer. Got to a high of 16 C/61 F. It will probably be the same today. Really nice fall weather this week.

Wow! As member #11 when this place had its start, I was acquainted with most folks here, but like any family that grows and grows, that became impossible. Never the less, I know that folks here are mostly all spun of the same cloth. So I just stay in my comfy clothes, mind my manners, enjoy the chit chat, making a lot of new friends, learning new things, and seeing a lot of the world from a different view than what I had.

Piper was spay yesterday. Last night at 2am she was ready to go out. I took her out to pee, and boy did she go. After bringing her back in, it took some time for to settle down. Thankfully my hours are flexible. Instead of 5am, I got up at 7am. The plus is that there was little traffic on the ride in, one hour fifteen minutes to get here. I'll be leaving at 6pm, and typically it takes about the same to get home when I leave at 6 or later.

My task when I get home is to bury one of our rabbits. He passed away yesterday.
