Hooked up with a guy that sold some trees for lumber. He wants the tops cleaned up and is offering the wood for free. It's only 5 minutes from my house so the trip is nice! The "drive" on the property is full of stumps and too tight for my trailer so I'm gonna have to make trips with the truck. To make the most out of the bed space I'm leaving the wood long and I'll cut them in half here.

Today I went and cut a load with my son and old man. Perfect day to cut wood! Here is a load of white and red oak.

Nice score and nothing is better then cutting wood with your father and son; 3 generations cutting wood. I wish you the best in life!

Hey, that little guy in the picture looks familiar! Growing like a bad weed. Soon he'll be as tall as Dad.

Congratulations on the good score and yes, it is nice to be able to work with family.

White and red oak, haven't any maple tops yet but there is a big mess of tops to work through.

I'da thunk you'd have come across some Sugar...I'm pretty sure there's lots in your locale?

There is a lot of it in various areas of MI but not in all areas. For example, several folks around here make maple syrup but although we have lots of soft maple, not one hard maple around us.
