Yup, most were still attached to the vine or they would have floated away. Wasn't all bad, I found a four leaf clover under a couple inches of water while I was waiting for my wife to get in the canoe.

Up with crickets this morning... Took a late nap yesterday and then fell asleep early... then at 3 a.m. started tossing and turning. Decided coffee time on the front porch was the right thing to do. It rained overnight a little bit and is lightly raining now. Love listening to the soft rain drops falling onto the ground...

I was up about then too....thought about getting up, but not too seriously. :)

Going to sit on the front porch and have some breakfast. Rain has stopped here and it should be a great fall day.

Enjoy the day ladies and gents!

Well I slept in till 06:15ish. Caffeine is going down. Looks like another nice weather day.

I have been too busy to even move my firewood under cover yet. :picard:I'll be lucky if I have the foundation for the barn back filled in time so we can get the piers for the center post in before my brother gets home to help me build it. Ugh. I hope it doesn't rain over the next two weeks. In the meantime I have been taking a little overtime here and there because the money is nice when your spending it like thewoodlands drives his new tractor. A lot! But then it is taking away from my time to get ready for the build!:picard:

I think the Wood Chop Shop is getting a new shipment of tractors coming in October so our hoe should be with this shipment. I do need more tractor time but that will come in another week, back to normal.

Take time to get your wood in Gasifier .

S6...I use to download my pics regularly to my laptop but after one of the many updates it no longer saw the USB connection to the computer.

Didn't use the cloud...just not crazy about storing my info on someone else's computer.

Will talk to Verizon but I've heard of other people losing data like I did.

Not the end of the world...lots bigger problems in the world than this. :)

The dogs and I went out early and loaded the last bit of shoulder wood and got it stacked before church.

Hopefully I can start bringing over the better wood soon.

I think I just about wrapped up this inside project. We used this slat storage rack for holding squash, onion, potatoes and jelly. Our needs changed and now we need storage for canned jars and a place to put the cast iron pans and vegetables. The cast pans were being stored in the oven and the canned sauce and stew has been on the kitchen counter.

    This was before...
    20160918_114708.jpg

I framed out the new wall in 2 x 3's. Kreg jigged and plywood gussets at the joints for strength. I went up to the local lumber yard yesterday and picked up 1 x 8 rough cut pine.

I forged out a bunch of hooks for the pans. I put small fishtail scrolls on the ends to prevent sharp edges. The hooks points were tapered round to square, and set in driled holes. The heavy pans got heavier hooks.

    20160925_122406.jpg

We have plenty of room for more jars and pans. The wood slat basket was used from the former rack. The shelf will hold 2 quart jars deep and there ia room to add another 8" deep shelf above it.

The raccoons and squirrels ate all our grapes that I use for jelly. My crabapple source did not produce due the drought and late frost earlier this year. I have to find another source soon.

that looks great. Not too many people get hand forged hooks to hang the pans from.
