Spent an hour or so detailing my 450 today and I have to say for what it is it has served me very well. It's not the most expensive saw but it has reliably cut somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 cords of wood and never once faltered and has been my go to saw for the past 3.5 years and has never failed to start or cut. Looks great!! You're getting me motivated to clean up my saws... but there's 11inches of ice on Keuka Lake now, so no work is getting done this weekend...

Thanks I always blow them out and wipe them down when I am done cutting but I took it apart today and really put some elbow grease into it. Thanks, funny you noticed the 50'th sticker as most people don't even notice it. I have liked it quite a bit but you know how it is its always fun play with the next model Lol.
Great saw.....and oh yea...the next models are fun too !! Heck..the old 450 would have lasted me 20 years anyhow ..if I would have been so inclined !!
What's the sticker on the recoil cover? Maybe I am not as well versed in models as I thought?? I've never seen one like that. As for the cleaning? To cut that much wood? It looks great! Stihl has factory machining marks on piston
The sticker means nothing, it was their anniversary edition which means it came with a hat, gloves, shirt and two chains. lol Don't get me wrong I use my saws but I try to take care of them. The piston looks great, I don't have a compression tester so I'm not sure what the compression is but it runs great that's for sure. The bar is the only thing showing that it's seen some wood at this point.
If you're cleaning it to sell I'd take the bar off and spray it with some gray primer for the pics. Otherwise the saw looks like its barely been used
