Lignetics are a decent pellet. I wouldn't hesitate to burn them. If you can buy them for the right price, I would go for them.

That is too bad they didn't burn well for you. My stoves loved the PTL's I got last fall. The ash is heavier than some things I've burned (but certainly not all), but it was low ash for me - I would scrape the burn pot couple of days. However, I burn the stoves on a thermostat (or the probe) so if you used a constant burn, and the flame stays low a lot, that could be the difference.

Yeah, and I loved the Cubex I got off CL too - no need for blending that stuff, one of the hottest pellets I've burned.

Too bad everyone's experiences are different, but that also means we get to have good discussions, debates and pellet hunting

Not a lot different than some of the fellas that pay $22.00 for a 4 pack of beer :loco:  that tastes like Kool-Aid that was added to the spice rub I put on my pork butt, then call my Blue Smoothies Pizz Water :p!! My Daddy always said there was one born every minute!! :faint:

Thanks B, I know what you mean about the different experiences we have. I know stoves and setups can make a difference but I'm a strong believer that batch variance is one of the biggest contributors. As a for instance, I have just about 2 tons of Ligs I picked up at TSC at the tail end of them bagging in the old red bags. Those burn like a champ, love em. Then I pick up the PTLs which we have long believed to be the same product, and have a rotten experience with those. So funny. You know, someone stopped in here briefly in the spring who actually bought the remainder of the pallet of PTLs my 15 bags came from. Would love to know how they burned for him, just as a data point. Don't recall who it was though...

My stove doesn't like the Cubex at all. All ash, OK heat.
