I wrestled with the drive belt for my lawn tractor tonight. The belt is lined up, in its home, all that. But I had to remove the 4 motor mount bolts to get the belt around the motor pulley. Well, I ran out of steam tonight and couldn't get the bolts in the motor by myself. It sounds like my wood cutting buddy can swing by Thursday after work. We'll get it done then.

Caffeine going in. Not sure how much rain we got last night. Hopefully not too much. Suppose to have a guys bringing me some loads of fill this morning for around the barn. If not too wet. Going to be a busy one today.

Good morning, might see 80 with small chance of rain later.
Gonna' get back out to the garage and continue with the mess I'm making out there..I'll be glad to get this part of it done.
Actually it's a welcome chore and I'm glad I finally tore into it.
Have good one today and be safe.

I ended up going with the "removal of motor mount bolts" on my brothers "Cub Cadet" (MTD)..crumby design if you ask me.

Gonna take a day off from the wood shed stacking. Taking my front tires from the tractor down for some new skins before winter. Going out for lunch with the wife while the tires are being done, and she wants to do some shopping while we are in town. Everybody have a great and safe day.

campinspecter is headed out for another load of wood for Mom. I am headed out to work. It is not so crazy at work as everyone settles into their routine. We definitely have summer back as the weather has been great this week.

Sitting in the ER, waiting on the synopsis of the kid concussion test... I guess he got his bell rung by a helmet to helmet hit in Monday's JV game and had a decent hit on last Friday's Varsity game. With all the talk now days, it's better safe than sorry...

Very well. Thanks. I was out the door at 5:45 am to get diesel for the loader/backhoe. Moving stuff out of the way between 6-7. Then busy with trucks from 7:15-3:00. I was going to take 30 loads. But he was really wanting to get rid of this stuff with equipment rented. If he doesn't get rid of it while he is digging and loading it he just has to handle it again after he piles it somewhere else. So he told me the more I take the cheaper it is. So I took 50 loads! o_O :dex: When you are getting it that cheap you are basically paying for the fuel/driver/trucking. Wish I had more time and money. I would have taken another 50 loads and stock piled it somewhere. LOL I should have plenty for inside and outside the barn now. I have a LOT of work to do in the next couple weeks on my days off to get the drain tile in and then back fill inside and out a little at a time. Site preparation the first week of October and then we start with the lumber.

Yeah, it's a crappy design. Mine's an mtd. So a red cub cadet, lol. If you can get the pulley off, it works, but removing something that's been crusted on there for nearly 20 years is not going to go easily. If they made the belt keepers removable with simple bolt on design then you wouldn't have to remove the engine mount bolts. It was either that or the die grinder, but then I would've had to come up with another belt keeper. Too much work for a cheap tractor.
I hope to get a couple more seasons out of this mtd. I can't buy s bigger mower than I have until I get a bigger storage area. The 42" deck is just narrower than door at 44".
My shed that I keep the tractor in is not on the greatest of shape, and if I build anything, it's going to be a second garage to store my boat and all toys in. The 2 car attached garage isn't enough, but I knew that when we bought the house. My plan all along was to build a second garage.
