Hope everyone has a safe and productive weekend in their firewood duties! It's gonna be another hot one here in SW VA but I'm gonna give it a go to chase the ever elusive 3 year plan
Softball. My load of logs sits there taunting me every time I pull in the driveway. Middle of October, I'll have free weekends again to start working on my plan.
Hackberry splitting is calling my name for Saturday and maybe early Sunday after church before the Packers get my attention.
37° this am, 39 now. to be 64° if the fog burns off. We'll see. Click "My weather" in my signature for forecast & what it is now at the local airport.
Unless it would be Sunday evening I doubt that I will be doing anything firewood related. Supposed to be 87º here tomorrow, going to set a tree stand in the morning. Sunday shows 72º and 50º at night.
Should be in low 70's here on Sunday. Hope to get started on splitting and stacking wood that won't be burned for at least 5+ years down the road. Need to build a box to put in my garage to hold all the shorts I plan on burning this winter - will post pictures when I actually get it done. Starting to get excited for the season to start.
Almost too wet to do much outside since we got almost 5 inches of rain this week. Looking forward to it drying out a bit next week.
Heat is supposed to break here after Saturday. Sunday is supposed to be nice - 70s I think. It'll be good to get out of the 90s. Ready for fall here!
Dave, many places have recorded their hottest summer on record. I was surprised that we didn't but weren't far from it. I did see that Detroit did set a new record there but not sure about other places in MI.
After clearing a trail last weekend then using it today to get my treestand set up I would welcome an early frost........I only have a couple small shooting lanes, but do not want to trim much because when it does start to lose the green, the cover diminishes fast.
I'm not sure if we broke records, I wouldn't be surprised with the humidity factoring in one day in August was feeling like 111 I'm sorry but that's too hot for me!
