It says right on the side, DO NOT DOUBLE STACK in big red letters... I guess the employee that came up with this one doesn't know how to follow directions.
They all double stack , HD , Lowe's , even the worlds greatest pellet that came from the Upton bagging plant
Here on Cape Cod...... They cover the Ton Stacks with Pallets or plywood to keep the birds (Seagulls/Flying Rats, Crows, Starlings, etc.) from poking holes in the covers. The covers get wet and form puddles....the birds use the puddles as birdbaths and poke holes into the pellet bags. This floods the top layer of bags on the pallet stack I picked up about 75 good bags cheap from a couple of tons damaged by by the flying bastids. This was at my local Aubuchon Hardware store a few years ago. They learned their lesson after that about the birds......just not the lesson about stocking good pellets !!! ---Nailer---
Will, This is in Brodheadsville if you want to have have a laugh. Maybe post a selfie with the pellets.
They've stacked them up like that at Lowes outside the garden department in the Fall here too. They're usually inside and not stacked on top of each other.
I wouldn't want to be anywhere near that stack in windy conditions. We can get 40 mph gust in any freaky thunder storm. Shear winds can move a lot. Pallets are not exempt.
I work on a receiving dock. 9 out of 10 things they say do not double stack are in fact double stacked.
