I took care of the dead pine we pulled over, we'll use that wood in the outside fireplace this winter.

I also pulled a stump from the middle of the trail, I had to cut some roots before I could pull it out with the tractor.

If it wasn't for the Mattock that stump would still be there.

Only after cutting about eight roots, before I started cutting the roots I tried about three pulls in four wheel drive and all I did was loosen it up and started to make some new ruts with the tires.

The roots were still good on this stump, I also was surprised on the dirt, I thought it would be sandier.

I see why you want a big excavator for stump removal.

I learned a long time ago to be careful when pulling on things with a tractor. Read several places where guys were seriously injured or even killed because their tractor went right up and over on them. One must be very careful. It can be done, but safety is the name of the game.

Subject: Ports for a plow on the FEL.

Gasifier , would I need two extra hydraulic lines on the loader for a snowplow which I could control the angle?

Its one of the best reasons to buy a winch if you do any sort of logging at all. Not only is it half your tractor, and getting a cable to a tree is far easier then a tractor, when you are pulling it can not go over backwards. Even if the tractor reared-up, it would only go high enough so that the winch would hit the ground and stop it from going all the way over.
