In Atlanta this week for training on new business software. I thought that I'd get away from snow for a week, but an inch of snow shut the area down. This morning they luckily still had class today. The facility were are training in wasnt open but they let us use it anyway. Thank god, as I couldnt have made it a full day in this room doing online training. Luckily I have 30 plus years of New England driving experience as we made it 6 miles on pure ice covered roads and no salt to be seen. No one else was on the roads here so it wasnt a problem getting in. Most of us were from snow states and half made it while the other half came in at noon once things thawed. By noon the roads had melted but most everything is still closed. Here is a pic of the parking lot when the facility threw us out at 3PM yesterday due to "severe weather". This morning was bad due to freezing, but yesterday was nothing and not bad roads until well after 6-7PM.
That's severe weather! Well I guess for some it is. I met a guy while driving that I trained from southern Florida he didn't even know what snow looked like for real. Our first load was through the Rockies boy that was hair raising.
On the flip side, we flew in on Sunday and had dinner at Pappadeaux in Duluth. Fantastic cajun seafood. Had me some Seafood Gumbo and Seafood platter-Fried catfish filets, shrimp, blue crab cake, stuffed shrimp and stuffed crab. Needs to say I was stuffed too
